Raul Valverde was born in 1980 in Madrid, Spain. He received a BFA from Complutense University in Madrid, an MA from Central Saint Martins, London, and a MFA from School of Visual Arts, New York.

A recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship and Fellow of the AIM program of the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Raul Valverde has been recognized with the Propuestas VEGAP, Circuitos, Carmen Arozena and Injuve awards.

Raul Valverde's work has been exhibited at the #1 Cartagena Biennial, Colombia (2014); The Bronx Biennial, New York (2013); La Casa Encendida, Madrid (2012); MARCO Museo de Arte Contemporanea de Vigo (2012); American Museum of the Arts, Washington D.C. (2012); Anthology Film Archives, New York (2011); Instituto Cervantes, Milan (2009); Circulo de Bellas Artes, Madrid (2008) and Royal College of Art, London, (2007) among others.
