Natasha Pavlovskaya

Born: Moscow, Russian Federation
Lives: Moscow, Russian Federation

My parents were part of resistance movement in Soviet Union in the 70s-80s. When I was born in 1982 my father was in prison for political reasons.

I leaved a first 3rd of my life in a 'homy' Soviet Union of my childhood, another 3rd - in a total chaos of a new born Russia and for last 10 years - in an out-of-borders international artistic space.
Probably these 3 equal in period and very different parts of my life influence my work the most.

All of my artistic concern concentrated around changing of post - soviet space. I am curious about the traces of vanished Empire and people, who still carry its mark on themselves.

Sometimes I work as cinematographer for documentary films.

My works also can be found on my website: natashapavlovskaya.com
