In my research I investigate the identity creating components within hegemonial images, in the context of cinema and pop culture as well as in private family photos.
As hegemonial images transport ideas of standardisation - like the connotation of gender and other allocations of stereotypes - I use these connotations to investigate the crosspoint of media staging, between representation and reception, via the strategy of ambiguity.
So, in a way, for my work in performance, photo and video installation, I reclaim media strategies like film-dubbing and lip-synching to decode habits of reception. With the help of these medial forms of restaging and re-enactment I work on questions relating to layers of real and fictional space, body and its construction, as well as the blickregime (gaze*) and an autonomous perceptual space.
