Eric LoPresti (b. 1971 Denver) grew up in the desert steppe of eastern Washington state, near Hanford, a critical site for Cold War plutonium production. A pursuant of both science and art, LoPresti holds a BA in Cognitive Science (University of Rochester, 1993) and an MFA (Maryland Institute College of Art, 2002). His artwork has been recognized with a Faber Birren Foundation Award and the prestigious Miami Young Painters Award. Recent exhibitions include Fade (2009, Like the Spice Gallery), Test Sites (2008, New York Public Library) and New Thought New Work (2006, Miami University). LoPresti lives and works in Brooklyn.
