Emily Hermant received her BFA from Concordia University her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has exhibited widely in museums, galleries and festivals in Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe, most recently at the Evanston Art Center, IL (2013), Artspace Contemporary Art Projects, Peterborough, ON (2013), Durand Art Institute at Lake Forest College, IL (2012), Arlington Arts Center, Arlington, VA (2012), Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Wilmington, DE (2012), Virginia Commonwealth University, VA (2011), Articule Center for Contemporary Art, Montréal, QC (2010), Hyde Park Art Center and DOVA at the University of Chicago, IL (both 2010), Triennale di Milano Museum, Milan, Italy (2009) and the Museum of Arts & Design, New York (2007-8). Her work has been reviewed in numerous publications, including ArtSlant, Espace Sculpture, The Washington Post, Time Out Chicago, the Village Voice and American Craft Magazine. In 2011-12, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor in Craft & Material Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in Studio Arts at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
