Clement Valla

Clement Valla is an artist and programmer interested in processes that produce unfamiliar artifacts and skew reality. Valla is interested in copies and repetition, and his recent work makes use of different copy processes - from Chinese 'Oil-Painting Factories' to drawings on Amazon's Mechanical Turk. His work explores the tension between individual creativity and mass-authored generative form. He currently teaches at the Rhode Island School of Design, and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
