Bayne Peterson

Bayne Peterson was born in 1984 in Palo Alto, California, and grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts. He received a BA in Studio Art from Vassar College, as well as the Lewis Rubenstein Award for Excellence in Art. He has worked as an intaglio and relief printmaker at the limited edition print shop Simmelink/Sukimoto Editions; he recently assisted artist Jim Drain on a sculpture commission for the new U.S. Embassy in Rabat, Morocco. Peterson has also exhibited large-scale public sculpture on the waterfront of East Boston as well as at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Massachusetts. In 2011, he was awarded the S.L.Y. Herman Scholarship to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, where he received an MFA in Sculpture. In 2013, he was awarded a RISD Graduate Studies Grant to fund a trip to Baffin Island where he interviewed Inuit artists working at the Arctic Circle. He currently lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island.
