Public baths played an important role in Iran. They were the weekly meeting point of men and women (each separated) and have been used as a place for social communication.
Today the few public baths which exist are mostly in traditional areas. The visitors today are traditional old men or they who have little money. Besides taking a bath they drop by for fun or they want to socialize.
