Installation view of 'Walking in Russia'. This installation consisted of 103 handmade paper shoes, a wooden work-table, drawings, texts, and miniature houseforms, which I call "improvised architecture." This piece originated from a coincidence: I had a dream in which I returned to my family’s original name (Sapozhnik, meaning shoemaker in Russian), and the next morning I found a collection of shoemaker’s tools at a flea market. The exhibition concluded with a solo performance in the theatre.
