Using a constructed 1950s kitchen interior as her stage, Stolle presents a disturbing contemporary version, incorporating subtle interventions with unsettling imagery. Collage cutouts of vintage pesticide cans are embedded into 1950s-inspired kitchen wallpaper highlighting the glamorization of post-WWII toxic chemicals. Framed text-based cross-stitch pieces, generally sweet adn unassuming, take on a poignant relevance. A mid-century announcer's voice bellowing from a vintage radio broadcasts a reverse form of corporate propoganda.
