Made Mention, 2012

This installation is an exploration of mark-making and an abstracted depiction of the process of creation. Silk organza was sewn into pyramidal shapes and filled with various combinations of flour, turmeric and graphite powder, creating a range of tones and colors. During installation, and throughout the show, the silk organza structures (hung by a single thread from a very high ceiling) spun and swayed, losing bits of the powder onto the scroll below.
