Contact Regarding Availability

Quoting Richard Serra’s enormous, steel Tilted Arc and the famous trial that resulted in its removal from Foley Federal Plaza in Manhattan, Bent Line is an insubstantial and diminutive stand-in for monumental sculpture in the form of a modular painting. Its fragile appearance is intended as an offering of trust between the artist and the audience. Nothing holds this piece together other than gravity and zip ties, and each time it has shown, I have placed it in the middle of the gallery. Unlike Serra’s Tilted Arc and my own Carapace, Bent Line is not a site-specific work.
