What Stands Between Us and the Sun is a single channel video, site-specific video installation, and a series of photographs. The video, photographs and installation can be shown together or individually. In an abandoned industrial mill building in Central Falls, Rhode Island, the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution, a stage constructed of wood and mylar becomes a lake. Surrounded by potted plants, the set for the video and photograph evokes an invented world where performers alter the lake's structure to fabricate an eclipse of the sun.
