These photographs of my wife Virginia, from the series "Stand Guard over the Solitude of the Other", focus on the intimacy in between moments of silence, beauty, vulnerability, and reflection. The images are not documents of our relationship, but they are informed by it. It is my attempt to reveal aspects of her individuality, but also to convey something deeper about how she reveals herself to the camera and how I portray her. Photography lets me look into those situations and discover meaning in the relationship between the photographer and the person who is being photographed. I want these photographs to illustrate the seductive veracity of photography and how we represent the ones we love. These are the things that I attempt to describe in my photographs of Virginia.
