Contact Regarding Availability

The untitled paintings are attributed to Christopher K. Ho as well as to Hirsch E.P. Rothko, a fictive shadow artist, whose invention and creations deploy conceptual art against itself to sidestep its self-imposed constraints. The paintings constitute one of three components of the 2010 solo exhibition 'Regional Painting' at Winkleman Gallery. The other two are a yearlong mountain sojourn (during which the paintings were made) and a ghostwritten memoir. Collectively, the components explore the term regionalism, and how it might present a third option between and beyond avant-garde and rear guard.
