Experts from ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘Solaris’ and ‘Blade Runner’ are used as subtitles to an forest landscape of undergrowth and waterfalls. The dialogue consists of women talking to men about their experiences of losing identity, and confusion of experiencing external reality.
A sheet of metallic mirror film and a wooden root/log are placed in front of the video. The screen can be seen through the film and also reflect it on the other side.
This film is part of a series of work under the umbrella name ‘the problem of attention’*.
In this project I look at how mental states influences visual perception referring to Psychological states and as a media induced situation.
They all have in common a text based narrative with a confessional voice and nature as a backdrop.
