When your Horse Dies, Turn it into a Boat and Keep Going, 2012
hand-dyed & printed silk organza, leather, horse's bridle bit, 96" x 48" x 120"
This sculpture is meant to be an absurd interpretation of life transitions (it was created for my BFA thesis) by presenting itself as an extreme solution in self preservation by the simple change in mode of transportation. Horses are providers, and have provided many uses and functions to humankind throughout our history. This piece exemplifies my continued exploration of healing and providing for oneself (self-reparation and autonomy).
